Bloom Description: Distinctive nodding, bell-shaped flowers with red outer petals and yellow inner petals; highly attractive to hummingbirds and pollinators

Soil Drainage: Well-drained, humus-rich soil; tolerates rocky woodland conditions

Wildlife Value: Excellent nectar source for hummingbirds, especially the Ruby-throated Hummingbird. Also visited by bumblebees and other native pollinators.

Garden Use: Ideal for woodland gardens, shade borders, native plant gardens, and naturalized areas. Works well tucked among spring ephemerals or along edges where it can reseed and form small colonies.
