Landowner Assistance

Active stewardship by landowners is critical to ensure the health of both private property and public lands in and around Big Sky.

When I reached out to Grow Wild Montana, I was simply hoping for a little guidance in restoring the land around my newly built home. The construction process had left the property scarred and overrun with weeds, and I wanted to bring back native grasses and establish a thriving pollinator garden. What I received in return was far beyond anything I expected.

Jennifer responded to my initial email almost immediately, offering an incredibly thoughtful message full of helpful links, tailored resources, and practical advice. She then took the time to hop on a call with me, walking me through every step of the restoration process, what to watch out for, how to time things, and what actions would best support long-term ecological success. Her depth of knowledge was evident, but so was her genuine enthusiasm for helping others steward the land.

Jennifer generously shared insights gained through years of hands-on experience, helped me identify the existing flora on my property, and patiently answered every question I had. She truly went above and beyond. Because of her support, I now feel confident and prepared to restore the native grasses and create a pollinator garden that will thrive, rather than risking time and money on plants that might otherwise fail due to misunderstanding their ecological needs.

Grow Wild, through Jennifer’s guidance, has made a meaningful difference in my project and in my connection to the land. I’m deeply grateful for their work and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking to support native ecosystems.

The greater Big Sky area is approximately 50,000 acres of private land which is parceled out to thousands of individual landowners.

The lack of resource management knowledge combined with the nature of a resort community creates an environment conducive to invasive species establishment and spread.

To address this, Grow Wild works to empower landowners to manage invasive species on their own properties through free one-on-one site visits.

We provide landowners with the tools and resources to execute ecologically based invasive species management

using best management practices and adaptive management strategies.
